The correct Dressmaker game on Steam

The sewing simulation covered here is Dressmaker by Cozy Lives, published by Free Lives, on Steam app 4019220. Its official store page is Dressmaker on Steam.

Do not confuse it with Steam app 1487080, a separate tool for creating VRoid and VRM avatar textures. Similar names make the app number the safest way to check that you have found the right product.

Release date and current status

Dressmaker launched as a full Steam release on September 21, 2026. It is not listed as an Early Access game. Older trailers that say “coming this September” describe the pre-release period; the current status is out now.

The release build should also be kept separate from the older Prototype 0.5.5 on itch.io. The prototype is a different build with its own platform list and feature limits.

How to check the current price

Use the official Steam store page for the price in your region. This guide does not freeze a launch discount or a US dollar amount into editorial copy because regional pricing and promotions change.

Supported systems

The full Steam release lists Windows and macOS. Steam marked the game Playable on Steam Deck during the research pass, but the launch announcement still described proper controller support as future work. “Playable” should not be read as a promise of a fully optimized native controller experience.

The Linux download belongs to the itch.io prototype, not to a confirmed native Linux build of the full Steam release.
